Most of the major automotive companies which manufacture high performance vehicles are always in the rat race to outperform one another by manufacturing the world’s fastest car in production. Records are set and broken and re-set till the next super car comes and usurps the title.
They command extremely high price tags with high-end features to match, but pretty frugal fuel efficiency, but makes it all worthwhile with blistering speeds and a thrilling ride that only a few deep pocketed fortunate owners experience. Listed below are the top six fastest cars in the world.
Fastest Cars In The World:
1. Bugatti Super Sport Veyron (268 miles per hour):
The Bugatti Super Sport Veyron figures amidst the world’s finest ultra fast cars and claims the glory of the world’s fastest production car title.
Since the year 2010, other super car manufacturers have been struggling to usurp the record from Bugatti’s flag ship model, but no one has managed to do so officially. After failure in snatching the top place for the world’s fastest production car in the year 2007 against Ultimate Aero SSC, Bugatti brought their engineer team together and manufactured the Veyron Super Sport which shattered the world record at Germany on 10th July, 2010.
Since then, Bugatti had been a regular in the automotive industry as 1 of the most expensive but ironically fastest cars the planet has ever witnessed. Is there any car in the world that can challenge and snatch away the world title from Bugatti, we have to watch and wait as only time would prove it.

2. Hennessey GT Venom (265.7 miles per hour):
The Hennessey Venom GT resembles a typical Lotus model, but when it comes to performance it is like no other automobile in the world. The heavily modified chassis of the Lotus Exige alias the Venom GT garners the second spot in the top 6 list as well as set a Guinness world new record for a 0 to 186 miles per hour (0 to 300 kilometers per hour) acceleration of just 13.63 seconds making it the only production car in the world with the quickest acceleration time. Keep in mind it is not the fastest, but certainly is the quickest.
However several months later, the automotive giant Hennessey launched an other video showcasing the Venom reach max speed of 260 miles per hour making it the world’s fastest car in production as commented by the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hennessey, Mr. John Hennessey. While a Veyron Super Sport did run 267.8 miles per hour, Bugatti has put a speed limit on its production vehicles to 258 miles per hour. Therefore at 265.7 miles per hour, the Venom GT is officially the fastest production car put up on sale to the general public.
However just after 1 week of official investigation by Guinness, they have reverted the world record title to Bugatti Super Sport Veyron as clients have the option of requesting Bugatti to switch the speed limiter off enabling the Bugati Veyron to reach its max speed. Made at a high security factory in Texas, the Venom production is curtailed to just over 10 cars in a year with a long waiting list.
3. Koenigsegg R Agera (260 miles per hour):
Sweden’s top automotive manufacturer, Koenigsegg had been designing and developing exotic and rare super cars for the past 10 years.Their creations are always a breed part and stand out from others in the already crowded industry. 1 of the world’s finest styled and best looking cars, it is the top speed which has caught the fancy of high performance car enthusiasts.
The Agera R had been officially announced at the 2011 Motor Show in Geneva and since 2011 has shattered many a land speed record including 0 -190 miles per hour (0 to 300 kilometers per hour) in a mere 15 seconds beating the record of even the Bugatti Super Sport. That has now been shattered by the GT Venom.
Agera R runs efficiently with bio fuel codenamed E 85 implying that it unleashes more horse power up to 180 than a car running on petrol. Some 12 months later at 2012 Motor Show in Geneva, Koenigsegg launched a series of updates for the upcoming 2013 Agera including new suspension system, carbon fibre wheels, a ramp up on the revolutions limiter from 7250 to 7500 revolutions per minute and a lightweight rear exhaust system.
4. SSC Aero Ultimate TT (260 miles per hour):
The SSC Aero Ultimate’s speed had been tested and tried in 2007 in Richland with Guinness records officially present to confirm the same. The American middle engined super car’s record was unbeaten for almost three years up till the Veyron Super Sport came into the picture.
Produced by SSC (previously called Shelby Super Cars), Mr. Shelby en-visioned the car & later designed and developed it. The Aero is not in production any more but what is exciting is SSC’s most latest production model, the Tuatara that SSC claims its top speed would be 276 miles per hour.

Its engine is mated to a 7 speed transmission, dual clutch.

The S7 is a limited edition car which was funded via Hidden Creek, designed by Mr. Phil Frank, Ray Mallock Limited did the chassis development, & Mr. Saleen initially envisioned the concept & was totally in-charge of over seeing the production team.
