1. Jon Brower Minnoch:
Even after the passage of 30 years, Jon B. Minnoch is still the world’s heaviest human ever recorded with a weight of 1450 pounds as per Guinness. The Guinness World Records book mentions Minnoch in its 2011 edition as the heaviest man in ever recorded in the world’s medical history.
Jon B. Minnoch had been morbidly obese through out his childhood. He was born in Wash in 1942. As the heaviest man ever recorded, he died in 1984 just before his 43rd birthday.
At the age of 14, Minnoch weighed at 300 pounds before reaching a weight of 390 pounds by the time he was 25 standing at 6 feet 1 inch. Just after 3 years, at the age of 25, Minnoch more or less doubled the weight to 705 pounds. In September 1977, he weighed almost 500 kilograms or 980 pounds.
According to the Guinness book of world records, Minnoch, 38 was hospitalized at University Hospital in Seattle in 1980 for respiratory and cardiac failure. Endocrinologist, Dr. Schwartz roughly estimated, as he was unable to use a weighing machine, that Minnoch weighed around 1450 pounds, his top record weight. Dr. Schwartz had attributed the extreme weight to water retention as a result of edema and congestive heart failure.
2. Manuel Uribe :
Manuel Uribe was born in June 1965 and is from Mexico. He suffers from a condition known as morbid obesity, one of the most extreme cases ever known to the medical fraternity. After attaining a top weight of 600 kilograms or 1300 pounds, being rendered bedridden since 2000, Manuel lost roughly 400 pounds 1/3rd of his body weight with the assistance of nutritionists and doctors and by following a special dietary regimen, Zone diet. Manuel gained world-wide attention when he appeared for an interview on a local television network January 2005, but refused gastric bypass to reduce weight.
Manuel has also featured on the heaviest man in the world documentary about his bed ridden life and his attempt to over come the disease. 3. Robert Earl Hughes:
Robert Hughes born in June 1926 was during his life time the heaviest individual ever recorded in history. Hughes’ extreme weight was the result of improper functioning of the pituitary gland. The girth of his chest was measured at 3 meters or 10 feet. He weighed an estimated 490 kilograms or 1100 pounds at his heaviest state. When he was 6, his weight was 90 kilograms or 200 pounds. When he was 10, his weight was 170 kilograms or 375 pounds. At the time when he passed away, he weighed more than 500 kilograms.
Throughout his life, Robert made guest appearance at fairs and carnivals. He had planned to attend an interview on Ed Sullivan Show which never happened. In July 1960, Robert contracted measles which developed in to uremia leading to his death at Illinois. He was just 32 when he died.
He is stated to be buried in the piano case. This erroneous statement has its origins from the sentence which was found in several editions of Guinness World Records book that read, “He was buried in a casket as large as a piano case.” His epitaph says that he had been the world’s heaviest human at a confirmed 1040 pounds or 470 kilograms.
4. Kenneth Brumley:
Kenneth Brumley had been 1 of the heaviest human recorded with the weight being confirmed. Brumley was featured on Channel 4’s documentary, “Half a Ton Father” as a dad of 4 who weighed around 75 stone, 470 kilograms or 1040 pounds.
Based on Kenneth Brumley’s statement in his documentary, he had been bed ridden for 4 years. After he was taken in for gastric bypass at Houston’s Renaissance Hospital, a fireman had to take down part of a wall in his house to get him out.
At the Renaissance Hospital, Brumley had been treated by a team of specialists that had treated Renee Williams stated to be the world’s heaviest woman at that time. The foremost step in Kenneth Brumley’s treatment was dietary restriction at 1250 calories each day, which enabled him to lose 168 pounds or 75 kilograms in only 45 days.
5. Michael Hebranko:
Michael Hebranko was born in May 1953. He suffered from extremely morbid obesity and was known to be 1 of the heaviest human in the entire planet.
After a brief stay at New York’s St. Luke Hospital, he reduced his weight from 400 kg or 900 pounds to 100 kg or 200 pounds. His waist size dropped from 300 cm or 120 inches to 90 cm or 35 inches in just 18 months with the assistance of a fitness coach and dieting. He was recorded in Guinness World Records book for achieving the highest recorded weight reduction in 1995.
He lost some of the additional weight through surgical procedures.
