6. Mudumalai Wildlife reserve:
It is a good place to refresh yourself from the hectic city life. Here, you can enjoy the nature along with the other species which inhabits the place. The Mudumalai wildlife reserve is a 321 sq.km sanctuary on the northwestern side of the Nilgri Mountain. Now, this place is declared as a Tiger Reserve.
The name Mudumalai implies “first hills” which is one of the first wildlife reserves established in India. This place is divided into five ranges which includes Theppakadu, Mudumalai, Nellakota, Kargudi and Masinagudi (in Karnataka).
This place is separated from the Bandipur National Park by the river Moyar. In the Mudumalai verdant forests you can see bonnet macaque, leopards, sloth bears, Langurus, Tigers, Elephant etc.
The species of the birds you can see in Mudumalai includes Grey hornbill, Malabar trogon, crested hawk eagle, King Vultures, crested serpent eagle and many migratory water birds etc.
