The word “coincidence” implies the events occur at the same time; apparently by mere chance. It may be a chance or it may be a fate. It can occur at any time: we were just thinking of someone; luckily they come to meet us or we saw them somewhere, or we murmuring some song suddenly the same is playing on the radio.
Most of the time these coincidences never mean much to us; but sometimes it give weird results. Here is the list of top 6 amazing, incredible, astonishing and remarkable coincidences in history and how they created a great impact to the world or at-least make the people wondering.

1. The Story of Twin Brothers:
The two twin brothers called Jim Springer and Jim Lewis, were separated at birth and adopted by two different families. They don’t know about their birth and they are twins. Unknown to each other both their parents who adopted them named the boys as James and here is where all the coincidence facts start in their life.
They grew up and both of them sought the law-enforcement training, both of them had the interest and potential in mechanical drawing and carpentry. Surprisingly, both of them married the separate women with the same name ‘Linda’. Both the twin brothers had one son and they were named as James Alan and James Allan. They both owned the dogs named as ‘Toy’.
Later both of them were divorced their first wife and did the second marriage with two different women again at the same name ‘Betty’. Can you say whether it is really a coincidence or fact? While I’m imagine their life it make me wondering and laugh. I imagine whether they faced any problems in their life or just enjoying all the fun happening in their life? After forty years the twin brothers were reunited and discovered that their lives had been amazingly parallel.
2. King’s Coincidence:
In Italy, one fine day the ‘King Umberto I’ visited the restaurant for dinner. When the owner of the restaurant took King Umberto’s order, the King noticed that he and the restaurant owner, has same face and same body features.

After that both of them start to discuss about the striking resemblances between each other and found many more similarities. Here is the list of their amazing coincidences:
- Both were born on the same day, same month, same date and same year-i.e March 14th 1844.
- Surprisingly both of them were born at the same town.
- Both of them married the different women with the same name, Margherita.
- The restaurant owner opened his restaurant on the same day that the King Umberto I was crowned the King of Italy.
- The King was informed that the restaurant owner was died in a shooting accident on the 29th July 1900. As he spoke of his sad incident and expressed his regret, he was assassinated by a mysterious anarchist from the crowd.
3. Titanic Coincidence:
In the year 1898, the Morgan Robertson wrote a book named ‘Futility or the Wreck of the Titan’. This book described about the huge ship which was considered to be unsinkable and the ship was named as ‘Titan’. It was sailing from Southampton, England in the Month of Wreck ie. the month of April. It was destined to America. But it never reached its destination. During the first voyage of this ship, it strikes an iceberg and sinks, causing huge loss to the lives and the property.
As written in the book, the same incident has happened in the real life. Only few minor differences between them. The shipped was named as ‘Titanic’. On the book the accident was happened at the Month of April. The real accident was also held at the April month. On the book there were 3,000 passengers, in the real accident there were 2,207. In the book, there were 24 lifeboats; in reality it was just 20. The numbers were being very close.
A few months after the Titanic sank, a tramp steamer was traveling through the foggy Atlantic ocean with only a young boy on watch. Suddenly, he had remembered about the Titanic accident, and he was suddenly terrified by the thought of the name of his ship called ‘Titanian’. Panic-striken, he sounded the warning. The ship was stopped, just in time: A huge iceberg loomed out of the fog directly in their path. Ultimately he saved his boat and his life from the iceberg.
4. Three suicide attempt, all stopped by the same Monk:
The Joseph Aigner is a famous and well-known painter in the 19th century. But he was an unhappy fellow and attempted the suicide for three times. He attempted his first suicide at the age of 18; when he tried to hang himself he was interrupted by the mysterious appearance of a Capuchin monk.
At the age of 22, he again attempts his second suicide; when he again tried to hang himself, he was saved from the act by the same monk. At the age of 30, his death was ordained by others who sentenced him to the gallows for his political activities. This time also, his life was saved by the intervention of the same monk.
At the age of 68 he finally succeeded in his suicide attempt, a pistol doing the trick. He shoots himself using a pistol. Surprisingly, his funeral ceremony was conducted by the very same Capuchin monk- a man whose name Aiger never even knew.
5. Twin brothers, killed on the same road, two hours apart:
On the year 2002, the seventy-year-old twin brothers has died within hours of one another accident on the same road in the northern Finland. The first of the twins was died by hitting a lorry while riding his bike in Raahe, 600 kilometers north of the capital, Helsinki.
After his death, the second brother was also died on the same road after 1.5km apart from the spot where his twin was died. The second brother was not aware of his first one’s death. It is simply a historic coincidence. The police-officer who investigated this case said that, “Although the road is a busy one, accidents don’t occur every day. It made my hair stand on end when I heard both of the guys were identical brothers”.
6. Lightning strikes the same man again and again:
A British officer, named Major Summerford while fighting in the fields of Flanders in February 1918 was knocked off his horse by a flash of lightning and paralyzed from the waist down.
He was retired from his career and moved to Vancouver. In the year 1924, as he fished alongside the river, lightning hit the tree; unfortunately the Summerford was sitting under the tree and paralyzed his right side.

After two years, he was somewhat recovered from his accident and take a walk on a local park again the lightning was hit the Summerford and after that he was permanently paralyzed there after. After two years from this incident he has died. Four years later from his death, a lightning struck a cemetery and destroyed a tombstone where his body was buried.
Significantly, the bolt of lightning killed a man as he stood in his backyard in Taranto, Italy. After 30 years his son too was killed in the same place in the same way. On October 8, 1949 the Rolla Primarda, the grandson of the Summerford was also died due to the same lightning. It’s really pity!
