Sometimes, it’s the seed(that’s poisonous/toxic), the pesticide level of the fruits and vegetables to grow it quick. Sometimes, unripe fruit or vegetable is not only too early to consume, but dangerous as well. And, sometimes, it’s okay for you, but not for your pets(dogs and cats).

Is there any solution, yes, there always is, just discard the leaves and stems, and make sure not to pluck the green unripe tomatoes to be consumed or to be included in the salad. Keep your dogs out of it, too.
Kidney beans, especially the red kidney beans, consists of toxic compound phytohaemagglutinin. Not only in red kidney beans, it’s found in various others too.
Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are the symptoms if consumed unprepared. And no, you don’t need to consume a bowl of these to trigger the symptoms, just mere four or five kidney beans are enough to wreck your system to no avail.

Solution, The toxic compound can be deactivated by cooking(for about ten minutes) the beans at 100 degree Celsius. US Food and Drug Administration also recommends soaking them in water for at least 5 hours, prior to the cooking.
Even a small amount is dangerous, and precautions seems like a huge list, and needs utmost care.
