Self hosted WordPress platform has emerged as a one stop solution for people wanting to build websites with little to no web development/programming skill, be it a basic personal blog or a full featured social website or e-commerce website or real-estate website. With plenty of themes and plugin developers who are providing us with a range of highly reliable and customizable options for WordPress, we can easily accomplish any web design task by ourselves with maximum ease and minimum cost.
While there are hundreds of plugins dedicated for specify tasks and niches, in this article I’ve decided to make it easy for those looking to build a full-fledged real estate website with WordPress. So here I get you what I believe are must have free real estate WordPress plugins. And this comes straight from my experience of building a real estate WordPress website for a relative’s new open plots venture. This list comes after about 3 hours of intense plugin search and about 4 weeks of using some of the listed plugins.
Free Real Estate WordPress Plugins
While compiling this list of free WordPress plugins I’ve tried to address the most basic needs of a real estate website’s visitors as under –
- Customizable search (based on pricing, location, type of property etc.),
- Video and photo Showcasing,
- Agent profiles,
- Robust contact page,
- E mail list builder for up-selling and cross-selling.
Here goes the list ….
TubePress, as the name implies combines the power of YouTube and WordPress platforms. So this plugin comes handy if you have a dedicated YouTube channel for your real estate business and want to showcase the videos in your real estate website.
See the following video to see how to use TubePress with your real estate WordPress site.
A real estate website is mostly about property listing. Doing this with a blog roll on WordPress looks stupid. That’s where this plugin comes handy. It has a clean interface that allows you to manage the property listing in your website. Also, the listing is responsive and customizable as per your web template.
The plugin allows you to create single listings or a listing archive which is accompanied with a listing search widget.

IDX search makes a vital part of a real estate website. Incorporating such a functionality in your WordPress website could never be so easy. Although there are many IDX search plugins available on the WordPress plugins page, I choose dsIDXPress as it is by far the simplest in terms of installation and usage.
The best part of this plugin is that it is well optimized for the search and helps index properties from the MLS on your website.
You can add great value to your visitors and prospects by including an intuitive loan calculator and this plugin allows you to do just that. The plugin comes with a clean Mortgage loan calculator feature, which you can incorporate in the sidebar of a page/post. Also, this is a light weight plugin that is backed by AJAX.
This is yet another valuable addition to this list of great free WordPress plugins for real estate websites. This too (like the WP Listings) comes from AgentEvolution.
This plugin creates a real estate agent profile directory for your website. It also allows you to display a featured profile on your sidebar. The only bad thing about this plugin is that it goes only with the Genesis theme. But then, I guess the Genesis is the best choice for many kinds of websites including the real estate niche.

Since investing in real estate is many a times a million dollar question, you’d not expect most of your website’s visitors to turn into instant clients. But you can always tap them nudging and luring them with follow ups. The MailChimp List Subscribe Form lets you grab the email ids of prospects, who can later be cleverly turned into customers.
While there are some one stop free Real Estate WordPress Plugins available like the Simple Real Estate Pack, I find choosing individual plugin for desired features is better, and so is this article crafted.
Hope I have covered the major needs of a real estate website here in this article. If you feel that I have left something behind, just drop a comment below with your idea.
