Have you heard about the 27 Club? If you haven’t, well today’s your day to know a little about it. It’s a group of popular musicians who died at 27. It’s surprising and sad to see these mortal souls go away somewhere far from Earth at the mere age of 27. What’s with the age, with the number 27, I’m no numerologist, but it’s certainly not the one I’d love to explore or talk much.
27 Club is growing and it’s hard to see all these musicians die in their prime age. Here are some of the musicians, I’ve always adore and always will. They’re gone, but their music will be loved and regaled forever.
6 Famous Musicians Who Died At 27
Jim Morrison was the vocalist and the founder of American rock band, The Doors. His body has been found in a hotel room in 3rd July 1971. According to reports, he has died as a result of heart attack. But the name of the doctor who wrote the death report of Jim Morrison, has never been found of the doctor lists. Therefore, some people believe that Morrison has died because of drug overdose.

Brian Jones was a member of Rolling Stones. First he left Rolling Stones, then in a short time his body has been found in the pool of his house in Sussex. The day he died, Frank Thorogood was one of the 3 people who was at Jones’ home. According to the some sources, Thorogood has confessed that he murdered Jones just before he has died in 1993 by these words: “It was me that did Brian. I just finally snapped. It just happened.”
Lots of people define Jimi Hendrix as “God”. He was left-handed, but in the years he lived there were no production of left-hand guitars. So he managed to play right-hand guitar. His active music career lasted only for 4 years. He has died by overdose of sleeping pills and alcohol in 18th September 1970. Even today, lots of people can not stop listening the songs he made in his short music career.

Janis Joplin is one of the best woman vocalists of the World, an idol for youth in 70s and also a victim of drugs. She has married with Electric Flag’s guitarist, Nick Gravenites and took him to her own band, Big Brother & The Holding Company. She was found dead in Landmark Motor Hotel, Los Angeles in 4th October 1970 due to heroin overdose.
If there’s anyone who’ve had the coolest grunge metal songs, Kurt Cobain’s will certainly be there. He’s the rock-star behind Nirvana. He rose to such fame and success through his band, Nirvana, that he was once hailed as “the spokesman of a generation”. Despite the huge success and fame, his addiction to drugs ruined his major parts of his life. And you know, how media and people exaggerate things like this. He was frustrated of the public opinion and committed suicide at the age of 27, though it was not his first suicide attempt.
Amy Jade Winehouse
She’s known for his deep contralto vocals and has a command over various musical genres. Her debut album in 2003 had been a huge success, hence she rose to a fame and everything that a singer of that stature would admire. Also another album of her in 2006, has helped her to win many awards including 5 2008 Grammy awards, making Winehouse the first British female to win five Grammys.
There’s no end to the success she has had in her career and he has won many hearts across the world. But, little did we know about her habit to cease illicit drugs, i.e. binge drinking would take everything from her. She tried to overcome, she abstained from alcohol for few weeks, but alcohol intoxication led to her death.
We know there are more of these artists and musicians who either ended themselves or died a tragic death. May their soul rest in peace, as we listen to their songs and creations which they’ve left for us to savor.
